About Us

Hola! Bienvenidos. My name is Amanda. Chicana Feminista. I was born and raised in Socorro, Tx, aka Chuco Town, aka El Paso, Tx.  I'm a Fashion Designer and Fashion Production Manager, based in Los Angeles. Growing up, I was surrounded by strong, confident, and bold women who inspired me everyday. I loved to watch my mom and sister get all dressed up and see that boost of confidence that would shine through when they put on a great outfit. Naturally, I wanted to be just like them and feel that same confidence. It was through them that fashion instantly became one of my forms of self expression. I went on to pursue Fashion Design and Business, where I learned the skills needed to bring my visions to life. I’ve worked as a production & design manager for 5 years and have had the opportunity of interning with celebrity stylists, assisting in photoshoots, movie promotion prep, and award shows such as the Emmy's and Grammy's. These opportunities have allowed me to see behind the scenes and learn the ins and outs of fashion, from the process of a garment's beginnings to ready to wear on the red carpet.

From a young age, I often got involved in my community and continue to search for ways to make contributions to causes that are important to me. My dream has always been to see my designs, and my vision come to life, and help people feel good in their skin. But more importantly, find a way to merge my passion for design with my passion for activism. Then FÉNIX was born. The spanish word for the Phoenix bird that symbolizes rebirth and rising from the ashes. A symbol that I feel is a representation of my life and journey.

OUR GOAL is to collaborate with women from my community and social innovation projects to produce a sustainable line of high quality, made to order pieces, to minimize our carbon footprint. This will also give us the ability to support local women owned businesses and causes we believe in.

At FÉNIX, we hope that as we grow, we can become 100% GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified.
